"You guessed right. I happen to be free tonight, so I'll take you out for something delicious." Ji Yunhuai's voice came through the phone. Apparently noticing the noisy voices on Lu Xiaoxiao's end, he added, "What are you doing? It sounds a little loud over there."
"I'm out shopping. I bought some fried skewers, too." Lu Xiaoxiao moved toward a less crowded spot as she continued explaining to Ji Yunhuai, "I spent today keeping my second brother's girlfriend company. I told you about her before, right? Yu Sangning, the one who's really good at jewelry design."
"Yes, I remember. I remember the Yu Family's jewelry, too. My mom used to really like their pieces."
"Wow! Even you know about them!" Lu Xiaoxiao sounded surprised. "Then the Yu Family really must have been doing well in that field back then."
"Mm-hmm. You just said you bought fried skewers. Do you still have room for anything else?"
Lu Xiaoxiao chuckled. "That depends on what you're treating me to. If it's something really expensive, I'll eat it even if I don't have room."
"Wow, you really won't pass up a single chance to fleece me." Ji Yunhuai laughed, clearly amused by her. "Don't worry. Nothing I'm taking you out for will be cheap."
"Okay, then send me the restaurant's location. I'll shop a little longer before heading over."
"Sure. I'll hang up for now, then. Looking forward to seeing you later!"
The call ended there. Lu Xiaoxiao was about to put her phone back into her bag when her hand suddenly came up empty.
