The car finally stopped outside a very upscale-looking building. There was no conspicuous sign, only two warm yellow wall lamps illuminating carved wooden doors. Judging by the exterior alone, it was hard to tell what went on inside.

The attendant at the entrance wore a neat uniform. As soon as Assistant Lin's car arrived, he stepped forward, bowed, and opened the door, his movements so graceful they were beyond reproach.

"This way, please, Miss Lu."

Assistant Lin stepped aside to make room for Lu Xiaoxiao. He appeared respectful, but his smile was strictly professional. Clearly, he would not give her the option of refusing to go inside.

Only once she was inside did she realize that this seemed to be a restaurant, though not one that catered to the general public. At first glance, it looked quiet and deserted.

There were only a handful of diners, with each table screened off by waist-high greenery. A pretentious, old-money sort of fragrance permeated the entire dining hall.

It seemed to be some kind of perfume. Lu Xiaoxiao could not identify the brand, but she felt sure it was expensive. It was also especially strong, so fragrant that her nose had practically stopped working.

Fortunately, they did not linger in the dining hall and soon entered a nearby elevator reserved for business guests.

Assistant Lin pressed the button for the top floor, then led her to a private dining room at the far end and stopped outside it. "Here we are," he said with a smile.
