He said, "I want you to live."
Golden light flared from Shen Yangge's body.
His tiny body slowly began to grow.
Seeing countless structures about to bury Chu Xuanzhen, Shen Yangge immediately swept his dragon tail across them, knocking them away. Then he coiled his tail around Chu Xuanzhen and swiftly carried him clear.
At the sudden appearance of the enormous creature, Jiang Heming's face froze halfway through a laugh once again. He stared, dumbstruck, at the great golden dragon circling in the air.
One glance left him dizzy, as though all the strength had drained from his body.
Jiang Heming swayed and collapsed to the ground. Suddenly, a long worm burrowed out from beneath his skin, leaving his body.
"No, no, no..."
He shouted as he tried to stuff the worm back inside himself, but it refused to return. It crawled forward with all its might, then found a hole and disappeared into it.
Without that crawling worm to suppress them, the gu worms inside Jiang Heming began ravenously devouring his skin, his bones, and his flesh.
In less than half an incense stick's time, only Jiang Heming's clothes remained. He was utterly dead.
Good and evil would each receive their due.
Being eaten alive by worms was an exceptionally gruesome punishment, especially since Jiang Heming had spent his final moments searching for the gu worm that could keep the others in his body under control, crying that he did not want to die.
Shen Yangge merely glanced at the clothes before flying down the mountain with Chu Xuanzhen.
Halfway down, the clear sky turned overcast, and rain came pouring down. Shen Yangge curled up the tip of his dragon tail to shelter Chu Xuanzhen's head.
He wrapped Chu Xuanzhen up snugly, making sure no rain could reach him.
