In the forest near an unnamed village somewhere in the Land of Lightning.
Uchiha Itachi and White Zetsu Tobi were resting there.
Obito Uchiha had shown him no consideration whatsoever, sending him straight out to capture tailed beasts. Their target this time was the Two-Tails of Raikage Village, and if they could capture the Eight-Tails, they had to bring him back too.
That really was asking a bit much.
Although Uchiha Itachi believed his body had recovered and he could defeat plenty of opponents, capturing tailed beasts still put him under considerable pressure. He could hardly start spamming Amaterasu the moment he arrived.
As for Tsukuyomi... genjutsu was almost useless against a Perfect Jinchūriki. The previous two had only succumbed because they were not truly perfect. But Killer B, the Eight-Tails' jinchūriki, was different. He was recognized throughout the Shinobi World as a Perfect Jinchūriki.
"That Obi-Madara is just making things difficult for us. Catching the Two-Tails is one thing, but he wants us to catch the Eight-Tails too. What a... pain."
White Zetsu Tobi chattered beside him, complaining as he gnawed on the meat skewers he had grilled. His cheeks were stuffed full, making his words a little muffled.
Uchiha Itachi ignored him, however. Keeping his schemes hidden was the most basic requirement of playing such games. Besides, he was watching the video.
The footage had shocked Uchiha Itachi considerably.
It was already clear that Orochimaru wanted to make a move against Sasuke Uchiha, and he had learned that from the Diary long ago. That was not what shocked him.
What shocked him was exactly what had shocked Jiraiya, and their deductions were much the same.
He was stunned that all the man had managed to take in exchange was a pair of hands.
*Perhaps that wasn't quite fair.
