Ch. 221Eternity
Plot points and events
- Driven by grief and rage, Sasuke awakens the Mangekyō Sharingan and manifests a terrifying black flame technique. He stabs Fugaku, and the flames begin consuming him.
- Sasuke is about to strike again when he hears Mikoto’s voice and feels someone embrace him from behind. The scene turns uncanny as the wounded Fugaku coughs up a snake, which in turn releases Orochimaru.
- Orochimaru reveals that the apparent deaths were staged using experimental clones of Sasuke’s parents. He arranged the ordeal to provoke Sasuke’s Mangekyō awakening, intending to take him as a student and help him pursue the Rinnegan. The real Fugaku and Mikoto have returned, though their survival is not yet assured.
- Indra, who had noticed the deception but allowed events to unfold, explains that Sasuke may awaken the Rinnegan by combining the power of Asura’s reincarnation with his own Uchiha power. Sasuke is told that the Rinnegan might allow him to restore his parents fully.
- Fugaku offers Sasuke his Mangekyō eyes so Sasuke can gain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and eventually bring Itachi back.

- Fugaku accepts responsibility for failing to protect his clan and children. Though disappointed in Itachi, he hopes Sasuke can bring him back and make him answer for what happened.
- Mikoto’s unexpected embrace interrupts Sasuke’s attack and signals that his family may be restored.
- Orochimaru treats the family reunion as an experiment and offers Sasuke a path toward greater power.
- Indra prioritizes Sasuke’s growth, withholding his knowledge of the deception because he believed Sasuke was not in real danger.
