Background / History
Tang San's body was born to Tang Hao and Ah Yin, while his soul is revealed to have come from another world. He retains knowledge of the Tang Sect, including the Mysterious Heaven Skill and hidden-weapon techniques that do not originate from Douluo Continent. The revelation causes Xiao Wu to reconsider their former closeness and distance herself from him. 13
By the time Chu Bai enters the story, Tang San is affiliated with Shrek Academy and serves as the group's principal combatant and strategist. He initially places great confidence in Blue Silver Grass, Tang Sect hidden weapons, and the Clear Sky Hammer, but repeatedly fails to overcome Chu Bai's Chaos Aura. Their early clashes damage Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer and leave him unconscious. 9 10 22 23
Following these defeats, Tang San becomes increasingly focused on gaining power. He participates alone in high-level arena matches, defeats a Soul Ancestor with poisoned hidden weapons and Blue Silver Grass control, and chooses to cultivate his Clear Sky Hammer despite the warnings of Tang Hao and Yu Xiaogang. 64 65 66
Tang Hao later takes Tang San away and strengthens his Clear Sky Hammer. Tang San returns as a Spirit King with five ten-thousand-year Spirit Rings, then establishes the Tang Sect with support from the Four Single-Attribute Clans. Chu Bai destroys the newly founded sect and later wipes out its four Soul Douluo elders, leaving Tang San's plans in ruins. 77 104 113 114
Tang San eventually undergoes the Sea God Nine Trials on Sea God Island and obtains the Sea God Trident. After Chu Bai defeats the Sea God, the Asura God offers Tang San a faster route to strength through his divine inheritance. Tang San accepts, becoming entangled with increasingly dangerous divine powers. 131 169 171
His conflict with Chu Bai escalates into the God Realm. Tang San gains the powers of the Asura God and God of Destruction, attempts to seize the Life Goddess's Origin Power, and later fuses his divine positions in an attempt to reach Creation God-level power. Chu Bai defeats him and erases his Origin Power. 192 194 200 202
A fragment of Tang San's divine soul survives by entering a higher-level universe under the Creation God's guidance. He eventually returns to the Douluo Plane with new power and an army of gods, seeking revenge against Chu Bai once more. 210
Appearance
Tang San's appearance changes substantially after he gains the powers of two God Kings. His formerly sea-blue hair turns white, while his pupils become blackish-purple and blood-red. 192
- His divine armor becomes blackish-red after acquiring Asura and Destruction divine power. 192
- His Blue Silver Emperor emits blue-gold light after awakening, though Ah Yin identifies it as incomplete. 148
- His Eight Spider Lance Spirit Bone manifests as eight large poisonous spider lances from his back. 22 65
Personality
Tang San is determined, prideful, and intensely competitive. He repeatedly challenges Chu Bai despite a clear difference in strength, often insisting that his hidden weapons, martial souls, or divine inheritance will allow him to win. 10 65 169
He is also a capable combat planner. In the Battle Arena, he combines Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, hidden weapons, Blue Silver Grass, and the Eight Spider Lance Spirit Bone to defeat a stronger Soul Ancestor through poison and restraint. 65
His defeats and losses—particularly those involving Tang Hao, Xiao Wu, Ah Yin, and the Tang Sect—drive him toward revenge. By the time he reaches Sea God Island, his desire to kill Chu Bai has become an obsession, and he later seeks control over the God Realm through accumulated divine Origin Powers. 87 94 169 200
