Background / History
Tang Hao first appears while already seriously injured, pursuing Chu Bai after Chu Bai repeatedly defeats Tang San. He identifies Chu Bai as Spirit Hall's Holy Son and intends to kill him both for injuring Tang San and to make him “pay for Ah Yin's life.” 14 15 He fights Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo, evades their pursuit, then doubles back to attack Chu Bai directly. 14
Chu Bai wounds Tang Hao with Chaos Cleaves the Heavens, but Tang Hao counters and nearly kills him before Bibi Dong intervenes. During the ensuing battle, Bibi Dong's poison arts and Chu Bai's interference force Tang Hao to detonate his ninth spirit ring and flee. 15 16
In the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang Hao abducts Xiao Wu and attempts to force her back to Tang San. He threatens to imprison or kill her and her spirit-beast brothers if she refuses. Chu Bai intervenes, injures Tang Hao's arm, and frees Xiao Wu. 52 Tang Hao then battles the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python, detonating three spirit rings to break their domains and launch an attack on Chu Bai. 53 When Chu Bai, the two soul beasts, and Spirit Hall's elders trap him, Tang Hao is saved by the autonomous detonation of his hundred-thousand-year spirit ring, which carries him away. 53 54
Spirit Hall subsequently pressures the Clear Sky Sect to surrender Tang Hao. The sect elders declare him a sinner and send the Seventh Elder after him rather than face Bibi Dong's retaliation. 56 62 During this pursuit, Chu Bai removes the Blue Silver Grass in which Ah Yin had been planted; the sight drives Tang Hao into a rage and causes him to abandon the fight with the Seventh Elder. 61 62 His loss and unstable murderous aura later leave him in critical condition, with his life force barely sustained. 63 64
Tang Hao later returns to the Clear Sky Sect with Tang San, hoping to leave his son there, but the elders remain hostile toward him. 90 When Bibi Dong confronts him over his attacks on Chu Bai, Tang Hao fights both her and Chu Bai. Chu Bai severely wounds him, cracks his Clear Sky Hammer, and ultimately destroys the martial spirit with the Pangu Axe. Tang San escapes with the crippled Tang Hao. 91 93 94
After learning that Ah Yin is alive, Tang Hao suffers an emotional breakdown. When Ah Yin reaches one hundred thousand years of cultivation, assumes human form, and meets him again, he is desperate to reconnect while she remains indifferent toward him. 144 147
Appearance
Tang Hao is first seen in a tattered black robe, wielding an enormous hammer that radiates black light. His repeated battles and old injuries frequently leave him bloodied, worn down, or disheveled. 14 15 54 147
- Wears a black robe, often described as tattered. 14
- Wields the massive Clear Sky Hammer. 14
- Emits intense blood-red killing intent in battle. 14 91

Personality
Tang Hao is fiercely protective of Tang San and defines much of his conflict with Chu Bai and Spirit Hall through threats against his son. He regards Chu Bai's defeat of Tang San as sufficient cause for murder and repeatedly escalates confrontations despite his existing injuries. 15 16 91
His attachment to Ah Yin is equally consuming. He maintains the Blue Silver Grass she left behind after her sacrifice, reacts violently when Chu Bai takes it, and is left desperate and emotionally shattered by Ah Yin's eventual return in human form. 54 61 62 147
Tang Hao is also willing to coerce others for Tang San's benefit. His attempt to force Xiao Wu back to Tang San through threats against her life and her brothers demonstrates the extent to which he will go to secure his son's future. 52
