"Oh?"
Mito sneered inwardly in disdain. She did not believe what the Nine-Tails had said. Had it really only wanted to see whether the seal was secure?
Couldn't it check something like that from inside the Sealing Space? There was no need to go outside at all.
At that thought, she snorted again, pressed two fingers together, and tightened the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
"Aaaaargh!!!" In an instant, the Nine-Tails was forced to the ground, letting out one agonized howl after another.
"Nine-Tails, I suggest you tell the truth, or I won't show you any mercy," Mito said icily.
"Urgh!"
"Mito... Mito Uzumaki... I really didn't lie to you. I really only wanted to go outside to check the strength of the seal..." it explained weakly.
"Fine. Still refusing to tell the truth? Then keep suffering!"
As she spoke, Mito tightened the Adamantine Sealing Chains further.
"Aaaaargh!!"
As the Nine-Tails' agonized howls grew louder, Mito's brow furrowed deeper. Had she really guessed wrong? Had the Nine-Tails truly only gone out to inspect the seal?
Several minutes passed, but the Nine-Tails still seemed unwilling to tell the truth. Seeing this, Mito had no way to get anything more out of it.
She shook her head slightly and sighed, then swept her sleeve and left the Sealing Space. "Nine-Tails, you'd better not have lied to me about this!"
"Phew..."
Feeling the Adamantine Sealing Chains loosen a little around its body, the Nine-Tails quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Yet its gaze remained fixed on where Mito had vanished, and it stayed lost in thought for a long time.
Only after a long while did it click its tongue softly and mutter, "Mito, how much longer can the seal on your body hold?"
"If it can't hold out, then it'll be goodbye for good..."
