Uesugi Io's gaze wandered. As though something had occurred to her, she changed the subject. "Lady Yui, you probably haven't had breakfast yet, have you? The sun has only just risen. It's still rather early."
With that, Uesugi Io walked over to a tree and took out three square boxes.
"Lady Yui, I happen to have prepared a boxed lunch for you. Why don't you eat first, then we can practice ninjutsu?" she suggested, offering her one of the boxes. "You'll have more energy that way."
Yui grew wary and frowned at the square box before her. "A boxed lunch?"
"Yes, a boxed lunch!" Uesugi Io lifted her brows slightly and gave her a kindly smile. "Miss Yui, I also had Yuri bring you one last night."
"When I heard you liked it, I prepared another one today."
"Lady Yui, eat it while it's still warm! It won't be as good once it gets cold."
Yui recalled the boxed lunch from last night, the one that had left her mouth and throat dry. Her instincts told her there was something wrong with it.
