When they stepped outside, the sounds of fighting echoed in their ears, and houses blazed around them.
At the sight, Yui had a rough idea of what had happened. Those three Uchiha must have fought their way in.
"Yui, what should we do now?" Nai Hyuga asked. She spotted Iwasui and Uchiha Ao fighting nearby.
Yui cupped her chin and pondered for a while before finally making up her mind. "Come on. Let's join the fight. Something like the Jashin Cult has no place in this world."
Her five slender fingers slowly closed around her sword hilt, fighting spirit stirring in her eyes.
Though the cultists were numerous, most were only as strong as genin, or even weaker.
That was why Yui had chosen this course of action.
"All right." Nai Hyuga nodded and followed Yui, drawing Wave Breaker alongside her.
They exchanged a glance, intending to attack from two directions, but just as they were about to move, a series of ninjutsu blasts thundered against the wall to their left.
Boom! Crackle!
The wall shattered, and a figure was swallowed by explosive Fire Release flames, obscured from view. Nai Hyuga reacted instantly, grabbing Yui and retreating far beyond the ninjutsu's reach.
"Hahahaha! So this is all Konoha's Uchiha amount to!"
Yui and Nai Hyuga came to a stop and frowned at the figure wreathed in flames.
At this sight, all the cultists and ninja fighting nearby stopped, their gazes turning as one toward the burning figure.
Clack, clack! Wooden clogs tapped against the ground as a stooped figure emerged through the drifting dust. "Heh! Look at the state you're in. Still talking tough?"
Yui recognized them. The figure engulfed in flames was probably the Jashin Cult Leader, while the other was most likely Uchiha Su.
"No, Lord Cult Leader!"
