"Like a Sealing Tag-an object that can itself seal other things."
Xiao You's explanation startled Yui. She pondered it, murmuring to herself, "It has traces of sealing power. Is it an object used in a Sealing Ritual?"
Her body felt fine, with no signs of poisoning. That was a relief.
She hesitantly picked up the gourd and examined it from every angle. Its patterns were exquisite and ornate, but there was one flaw: the entire gourd had dried out and was showing signs of cracking.
She probed it with her mental energy. Just as Xiao You had said, it carried faint traces of sealing power.
Yui hefted the gourd, feeling the fresh water slosh inside, and nodded to herself, making up her mind. "All right, I'll take it along for now."
"Mm." Xiao You stared thoughtfully at the gourd. She vaguely sensed something unusual about it, but couldn't tell exactly what.
Perhaps I'll find the answer someday! she thought.
Yui tried to seal the gourd inside a scroll, but failed. She stared, momentarily dumbfounded, as the gourd was sealed into the scroll, only to pop out again a moment later.
"What's going on?"
She turned to Xiao You. "If I remember correctly, sealing-type ninja tools can be sealed inside scrolls too, can't they?"
"Well..." Xiao You came back to her senses, stared at the gourd, then scratched her head. She had no idea what was going on either.
She jumped down from Yui's shoulder, walked over to the gourd, and examined it closely. After a long while, she seemed to reach a conclusion. Returning to Yui's shoulder, she said helplessly, "Yui, why don't you just carry the gourd with you?"
"Huh? Is this gourd really so special that it can't be sealed inside a scroll?" Yui asked in confusion.
"Uh..."
