The sudden change of subject caught Kazama Ya off guard for a moment, but it recovered a second later.
It asked in confusion, "Why are you asking these questions?"
Yui scratched her head and answered nervously, "Uh... I just wanted to learn a little more."
"Oh... is that so?" Kazama Ya considered this for a moment. It did not suspect much. Although time was short, it still had the patience for a conversation.
"Well, you could say my homeland is on this planet, but you could also say it isn't..." As its thoughts drifted into the past, long-buried memories gradually grew clearer.
Seeing that Kazama Ya had not grown suspicious, Yui inwardly sighed in relief. Its answer made her frown slightly, and she asked again, "Why do you say that? It isn't on this planet, but it is?"
She stared at the gourd at her waist, hoping it would reveal more information.
"Hmm... so you really don't know." Returning to the present, Kazama Ya spoke with a touch of arrogance. "My homeland is a place called Takamagahara... You've never heard of it, have you? That's only natural, after all."
"What did you say? Takamagahara?" Yui froze. For some reason, hearing that word sent a chill through her body. "What sort of place is that?"
She had no idea what Takamagahara was. The name merely sounded familiar, but she could not remember where she had heard it.
"Heh... I knew you wouldn't know what kind of place it was... How inferior." Kazama Ya chuckled a few times, its tone haughty. "You may know that place by name, but its whereabouts cannot be spoken of..."
"As for how long I've been locked up here, I no longer remember." Having said that, Kazama Ya seemed to think of something and changed the subject.
