Suddenly, a momentary lapse made Big Bear stumble, lose its balance, and tumble down the stairs.
Big Bear's eyes widened as it watched the jade box fly out of its hands, powerless to stop it.
"No! My bear brother's remains!!!"
With no time to think about whatever was chasing it, it reached out both hands to catch the jade box. But its arms were too short, and it could only watch the box fly away.
After several thuds, Big Bear rolled all the way down the stairs.
"Ugh... my bear brother's remains!" Once it recovered, it immediately got up and looked ahead, hoping to retrieve what it had dropped.
But one glance made it freeze. It rubbed its eyes and cried out in disbelief, "Where's my jade box? Where are my bear brother's remains?"
It looked around in shock and finally spotted the box in a pair of pale, delicate hands.
Yui examined the jade box in her hands and asked in puzzlement, "Big Bear... why were you in such a hurry? And... what is this?"
The jade box felt icy cool when she first took hold of it. The sensation seemed familiar, and she realized that the box was made from the same material as the Stone Tower.
At that thought, her breath caught.
She had failed to chip off a piece of the material earlier, yet now something made from that very material had appeared before her.
"It's a shame, though..." She shook her head. This seemed to be something Big Bear had obtained, so she couldn't keep it for herself.
Perhaps she could ask Big Bear where it had found the jade box later and try her own luck there.
"Oh, it's you, Miss Yui..." Seeing that the jade box was unharmed, Big Bear sighed in relief.
