But now another problem stood in her way: she had very little chakra left. By the time she reached Nai Hyuga, she would most likely have exhausted it.

As a result, she no longer dared to activate her Byakugan or make any unnecessary movements that would consume chakra.

Ultimately, though, this was not a serious problem. At most, it would cost her some time. All she wanted was to explain her ideas to Nai Hyuga, and once she had finished, the Shadow Clone would be dispelled anyway.

Having thought it through, Yui stopped lingering and slowly walked toward the three figures nearby. They were not very far away; she estimated that she could reach them in five or six minutes.

What puzzled her was that even though she had come this close, none of them had reacted. Had they not sensed her? That should not have been possible!

After some thought, she decided that Nai Hyuga had probably failed to sense her approach because she was focused entirely on controlling the Mirror. If that was the case, it made sense.

On the distant sand dune, Nai Hyuga stared intently at the wary Yui in the Mirror. Her expression was grave, and fine beads of cold sweat began to form on her forehead.

After continuously feeding chakra into it, she had a rough idea of why she could not expand the connection between the Mirror and the space. The problem was most likely her chakra.

Ever since she had begun pouring in large amounts of chakra to connect the spaces, she had distinctly felt the weakness brought on by the chakra draining from her body. By now, feeding in more chakra had no effect at all. The connection seemed to have stopped expanding.
