"Option two? But that's different from the legends I grew up hearing."
Hearing her junior brother say this, Tang Ya could no longer spare any thought for how these options tarnished her Tang Sect ancestor's reputation.
She patted her chest and assured him.
"Little Yuhao, just listen to me. The answer to this question is definitely two."
Then Tang Ya explained her views one by one.
"Although option two is a little different from the legends, those legends have been passed down for ten thousand years. Who knows how many times they've been rewritten? It's normal for them to differ somewhat from actual history."
"Look, the first option is utter nonsense. Everyone knows it was our Tang Sect ancestor who led the Tang Sect to destroy Spirit Hall and save the Douluo Continent from fire and flood."
"So the first option is definitely wrong."
At this point, Tang Ya glanced at Huo Yuhao's expression. Seeing that her junior brother still couldn't make up his mind, she continued.
"The third option is even more ridiculous. A soul from another world crossing over to the Douluo Continent? How could something so bizarre possibly happen?"
"If that's true, I'll make Bei Bei eat poop once I get back down."
"So this must be something the Sky Screen made up at random. If it's going to make things up, it could at least do a better job. It actually came up with an option this illogical.
"Anyone who picks this must have something wrong with their head. You'd have to be a real idiot to believe it."
Down below, Bei Bei's expression instantly turned helpless when he heard Tang Ya's words. He couldn't understand how she had managed to drag him into this.
"The fourth option is pure slander, too. It's true that our ancestor and Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang were master and disciple, but they weren't related by blood at all."
"Although Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang and Ancestor Liu Erlong really were brother and sister, those are matters concerning our ancestors. It's not our place as juniors to judge."
"Besides, your eldest senior brother Bei Bei is also a descendant of the Grandmaster. We'd better pretend we never saw this option."
Huo Yuhao wavered. Although the second option was the most reasonable, he felt the third option made some sense, too.
After all, the founding ancestor had never explained where his Tang Sect Secret Arts had come from.
Although most people believed the ancestor had created them himself, Huo Yuhao thought memories carried over through reincarnation would explain them even better.
With time about to run out and her junior brother still not having written an answer, Tang Ya couldn't help growing anxious. If answers could be written on someone else's behalf, she probably would have done it herself.
And so Tang Ya brought out her authority as the current Tang Sect leader.
"Yuhao, trust me. I'm the current Tang Sect leader. How could I possibly get a question about our founding ancestor wrong?"
"It's two. There's absolutely no mistake!"
Since Teacher Xiao Ya had gone that far, Huo Yuhao stopped hesitating and wrote a two on the colorful sheet of paper.
Seeing that her junior brother had finally come around, Tang Ya nodded in satisfaction, gently stroked Huo Yuhao's head, and assured him.
"Don't worry, Yuhao. It's definitely right. I guarantee it!"
Huo Yuhao smiled at Tang Ya's expression.
"Yes, Teacher Xiao Ya. I believe you!"
"That's my little Yuhao. Such a good boy."
Tang Ya didn't hold back her praise, which made Huo Yuhao's little face flush red.
Wang Dong hadn't joined their conversation. She was still shaken by what had happened.
Elsewhere, Tang San had already made his choice.
Naturally, he had written three.
However, he believed few people would answer this question correctly. Most would choose two, because he had never mentioned this matter to anyone.
Since he had never mentioned it, anyone with any sense would choose two over the other answers, even if it contained a few discrepancies.
In truth, those three options infuriated him, but he didn't dare make the slightest move, because he remembered that the Sky Screen wouldn't allow him to reveal his identity.
So even when he saw his daughter charge toward the Sky Screen, he hadn't moved a muscle.
Leaving aside whether going up to save her would risk exposing him, even without that risk, he was now only an ordinary person without a trace of Soul Power. He couldn't help in the slightest.
Fortunately, Wutong had come through unharmed, allowing Tang San to breathe a small sigh of relief.
The Silver Dragon King had also written down her answer. She had chosen two as well.
There was no other reason. She simply felt that two was the most reasonable.
Although she wasn't familiar with Tang San and knew nothing of his past, reason had led her to choose the most plausible answer.
The Demon Empress was different. She chose an answer unlike everyone else's and wrote one.
Of course she knew who Tang San was.
He was the man who had killed her husband, the person she hated most. Even in her dreams, she longed to kill him.
So she hadn't analyzed the options rationally at all, instead writing down an answer that was obviously wrong at first glance.
Her purpose was simple: to vent the fury in her heart.
She knew Tang San extremely well and knew that he and Spirit Hall were mortal enemies. Even the mother of Tang San's wife had fallen into Spirit Hall's hands.
So, for revenge and to vent her anger, she wrote down that answer. Whether it was right or wrong wasn't something she was considering.
Everyone had written down their answers, and the hourglass on the Sky Screen had reached its final grain.
The instant that last grain fell, the rainbow-colored sheets bearing everyone's answers flew back into the Sky Screen.
Everyone held their breath and focused, staring intently at the Sky Screen as they waited for the answer to be announced.
Even Tang Ya, brimming with confidence, did the same.
They weren't the only ones watching for the answer. Many people across the continent were watching as well. Xiao Xiao, for instance, looked at Lin Yang standing beside her and asked a question.
"Lin Yang, which option do you think we should choose? You seem to know a lot about the Tang Sect's founding ancestor."
"I'd say one. Tang San is the illegitimate son of Tang Hao from the Clear Sky Sect and Bibi Dong from Spirit Hall."
Hearing Xiao Xiao's question, Lin Yang casually cracked a joke. He had written the question himself. How could he not know which answer to choose?
"Be serious." The petite Xiao Xiao jumped up and smacked Lin Yang on the forehead, her face full of murderous intent.
"Just kidding, just kidding." Lin Yang hurriedly gave her an appeasing smile and supplied the correct answer. "The answer should be three. I couldn't be more familiar with that fellow Tang San's origins."
"Is it really two? That's straight out of the Arabian Nights." Xiao Xiao still couldn't believe it.
"What's the correct answer? Just keep watching. The Sky Screen will tell us."
Lin Yang said no more and waited for the answer to arrive.
Across the Douluo Continent, Xiao Xiao and Lin Yang were certainly not the only ones debating the answer. Voices rose in discussion everywhere.
That included Shrek Academy, of course.
"Grand Ancestor, which answer do you think we should choose for the Sky Screen's question?"
"What do you think?" Mu En smiled without giving an answer.
"Logically, I think it should be two. But judging by the history recorded by the academy and the legends circulating among the people, two seems to contain some discrepancies."
"So you aren't really sure of the correct answer yourself?"
"That's right, Great-great-grandfather. I'm not certain..."
Bei Bei hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Great-great-grandfather, do you think two is right?"
Mu En turned his slightly clouded eyes toward the Sky Screen. "There seems to be a voice coming from the Sky Screen. Whether it's right or wrong, we need only wait for its answer."
