After their enemies used Nie Tong as bait for a trap, Nie Tong died protecting Nie Yun, who killed Huang Ling and Qi Tao while Huang Chen and Empress Ziqiong escaped.

• Nie Yun and Nie Tong survived the Swamp Wasps, then joined the others at the Purple Splendor Cave Mansion, where Nie Yun cured their poison and forced Qi Huang to carry him.
• The group entered the cave mansion, and Nie Yun killed the human-demon attackers before dividing the survivors between two passages.
