Background / History

Tang San was an orphan and assassin affiliated with the Bashu Tang Sect in his previous life. After secretly learning the techniques contained in the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, he was discovered in the sect's Treasure Pavilion, pursued by its elders, and jumped from Ghost Weeping Cliff before reincarnating in the Douluo world 176.

During his early years, he cultivated under Yu Xiaogang and reached Rank 29 with two high-quality spirit rings. Xiao Wu became his sworn younger sister, softening what was described as his previously lonely disposition 31. He later enrolled at Shrek Academy, where he defended Xiao Wu against Zhao Wuji despite the overwhelming disparity in strength 44.

Tang Hao eventually intervened in Tang San's cultivation after judging Yu Xiaogang's ring choices to have damaged his Blue Silver Grass into a poisonous, black-spotted martial soul. Tang Hao began training him in the Clear Sky Hammer, including the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and Haotian Nine Wonders 167.

During the Spirit Master Competition, Ye Liangchen confiscated Tang San's hidden weapons and used Life Siphon to take his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline and obtain memories of the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record 170 172. Tang San's techniques subsequently spread among other competitors and were sold publicly, intensifying his hostility toward Ye Liangchen 182 193.

After returning to Clear Sky Sect with Tang Hao, Tang San was humiliated alongside his father. The sect condemned his damaged Blue Silver Grass and forced them to kneel and kowtow for three days. His accumulated resentment allowed the Rakshasa God's Thought to possess him; he attacked the sect, swore revenge, and leapt from a cliff 225.

The Rakshasa God's Thought accepted Tang San as its successor, transformed his martial souls, and sent him toward Slaughter City. He later founded the Tang Sect with the Strength Clan as its initial membership, intending to build power and eventually seek revenge against Clear Sky Sect 226 253 254.

Appearance

Tang San's appearance deteriorated over the course of his hammer training, poison-ring cultivation, and Rakshasa inheritance. By the Spirit Master Competition, Xiao Wu observed roughened skin and a noticeably uglier appearance; after his defeat by Ye Liangchen, he lost his eyebrows 184 193.

• His original Blue Silver Grass became black-spotted, foul-smelling, and poison-aligned under Yu Xiaogang's guidance 167.
• The Rakshasa God's Thought renamed his altered plant spirit the Demon Pattern Vine and his hammer the Rakshasa Hammer, both marked by dark demonic patterns 226.

Personality

Tang San is fiercely protective of Xiao Wu and repeatedly reacts with anger when she is harmed. He challenged Zhao Wuji after Xiao Wu lost consciousness and later confronted Ye Liangchen after Xiao Wu was poisoned during the Advancement Competition 44 183.

He is ambitious, secretive, and highly resentful of those he sees as enemies. He conceals information about his rings, manipulates Yu Xiaogang into keeping secrets, and becomes increasingly focused on revenge against Ye Liangchen and Clear Sky Sect 190 225. His resentment eventually develops into open cruelty: he accepts the Rakshasa inheritance, treats Xiao Wu as expendable when speaking to Ye Liangchen, and later kills allies and former companions during a mad pursuit of power 251 495 496.

He upgrades his Clear Sky Hammer with four high-level rings, publicly reveals it during the Advancement Competition, and becomes increasingly hostile after discovering other teams using Tang Sect techniques 179 182 184. Ye Liangchen ultimately defeats and humiliates him in a Spirit Duel 192 193.

Rakshasa Successor and Tang Sect Founder

After Clear Sky Sect humiliates him and Tang Hao, Tang San falls under the Rakshasa God's influence and receives a divine inheritance 225 226. He enters Slaughter City with Yu Xiaogang and Ma Hongjun, then establishes the Tang Sect with the Strength Clan after emerging as a Soul Emperor 226 253.

Revenge Against Clear Sky Sect

Tang San completes Rakshasa trials while rapidly gaining powerful rings and spirit bones. At Level 97, he attacks Clear Sky Sect to fulfill his eighth test 418 419. He defeats its elders, injures Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, renames the sect the Hammer Sect, and subordinates it to Rakshasa Island 420.

Godhood, War, and Death

After ten years in the Abyssal Plane, Tang San returns as a Third-Level God and attempts to unite Heaven Dou Empire's forces against Ye Liangchen 485 487. His confidence collapses after Ye Liangchen overwhelms him in battle; he kills Yu Xiaogang and massacres allies, gods, and soldiers to gain power 495 496.

Ye Liangchen, Qian Renxue, Bibi Dong, and their allies defeat him. Ning Rongrong then kills Tang San in retaliation for the deaths of Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo 496.
