"Third floor, bedroom on the left! A paralyzed old man!" Matt Murdock leaned on his cane, turning his dark red mask in that direction as he spoke rapidly. "His heartbeat is weak. He won't last much longer!"

Peter flicked his wrists. With a sharp hiss, two strands of webbing stuck precisely to the load-bearing wall on the verge of collapse. He pulled hard with both arms, unleashing over ten tons of spider strength and forcibly holding the tilting wall in place.
"Superlady! Get him out! I can't hold this for long!" Peter gritted his teeth, his face flushed red beneath his mask.
"Call me Jessica!" Jessica kicked off, shattering the asphalt beneath her feet and shooting through the third-floor window like a cannonball. Less than three seconds later, she jumped back down with an old man in a wheelchair hoisted over her shoulder, landing steadily.
Behind the outer defensive line, Chief George Stacy swallowed hard as he watched their seamless teamwork.
"Chief! The military just contacted us. They're demanding we withdraw immediately. They're going to blanket the area with indiscriminate fire!" A detective ran over and delivered the report at the top of his lungs.
"Fucking bullshit!" George snatched the radio and roared into it. "There are still hundreds of civilians on the streets! Whoever opens fire, I'll shoot them myself! Tell your helicopters to stay right where they are!"
