Wind howled as a black Apache helicopter bearing U.S. Army markings touched down amid the rubble.
General Thaddeus Ross strode through broken glass and pools of blood. He pointed at Yang Ming, lying unconscious in a pool of blood, his eyes filled with greed and cold calculation as he scrambled to shift the blame.
More than a dozen fully armed special forces soldiers instantly raised their M4 assault rifles, their red laser sights converging on the people around Yang Ming.

A half-ton load-bearing steel plate was kicked through the air and slammed into the asphalt in front of the soldiers, sending sparks flying.
"Who did you say you were taking away, you old bastard?"
Jessica Jones stood in front of Yang Ming like a mother leopard guarding her cub. Her battered leather jacket was covered in dust, and she still held a beer can she had crushed into a metal disk. Her eyes were fierce enough to devour someone.
"You're obstructing a top-secret military operation!" General Ross's face darkened, and he swept his hand forward. "This is your only warning. Stand aside, or we'll shoot you on the spot!"

Frank Castle emerged from behind a wrecked van with half an unlit cigar clenched between his teeth. He held his M249 light machine gun, its dark muzzle aimed straight between Thaddeus Ross's eyes.
"I still have a hundred armor-piercing rounds in this drum." Frank spat out his cigar, his voice colder than ice. "Go ahead. Let's see whether your rookies can kill fast enough to beat my bullets."
