The helicopter's taillights vanished into the curtain of rain.

Peter did not follow.

The webs from both his wrists had already stuck to its underside. One more swing forward, and he could have climbed onto the landing gear.

But the blue shipping container was sinking.

There were still people behind its doors.

"Save them first!"

Peter released his webs and dropped straight down.

Harry's whip wrapped around the bottom of the container, Gwen Stacy and Venom braced its sides, and Yang Ming opened a portal, dragging the workers to safety one after another.

When the last man was pulled up, his entire right leg had been submerged in the icy seawater.

Dave knelt beside him, pressing hard against his wound.

"Don't fall asleep! Sir, what's your name?"

"Martin, listen. My name's Dave. If you fall asleep now, I'll have no choice but to keep talking to you."

Dave breathed a sigh of relief. "Peter said that was a strength."

In the distance, Frank lowered his rifle.

He stood on a tilted steel beam, staring in the direction the helicopter had gone, his finger resting beside the trigger guard.

"The target escaped," he said.

"The workers are alive," Matt replied.

"I know."

Frank jumped off the beam, scattering fragments of concrete as he landed. "That's why I didn't fire a second shot."

Mindy emerged from the white mist with an unconscious worker slung over her shoulder, her purple wig plastered to her forehead by the rain.
