The music in the bar was deafening, and men and women swayed in the dance floor under dazzling, multicolored lights.

Gu Wenze squeezed the back of Gu Junxing's neck. "Don't be stupid. She's after your money. If you hadn't returned to the Gu Family, do you think she'd even spare you a glance?"
Pain flashed across Gu Junxing's face. As though the words had struck a nerve, he raised his glass and took a huge gulp.
Gu Wenze's frown deepened. "Is that why you asked me out tonight?"

Gu Wenze patted his shoulder. "All right, stop overthinking it. If that's the type you like, I'll find you someone similar."
Gu Junxing paused briefly mid-sip and couldn't help looking up at Gu Wenze.
He desperately wanted to ask his brother whether he could let him have his sister-in-law.
His brother didn't like Qiao Hua anyway.
But he did. He would cherish Qiao Hua, never mistreat her the way his brother did, and make her the happiest woman in the world.
