Gu Wenze gave a low hum of assent.
Qiao Hua's thoughts were in a jumble. How had Shen Zhen gotten pregnant so soon?

Suddenly, something dawned on Qiao Hua. She glared at Gu Wenze. "Did you know all along and deliberately keep it from me?"
Gu Wenze looked perfectly composed. "I only just heard about it myself."
Qiao Hua was skeptical. She couldn't shake the feeling that she'd been duped.
But at the thought of Shen Zhen being pregnant, she had no time to dwell on whether Gu Wenze had planned this all along or really had only just found out. All she could think about was Shen Zhen.
Qiao Hua gritted her teeth and lifted her chin stubbornly. "Her being pregnant is all the more reason I need to see her. She said she'd be the baby's godmother once he was born. Now that he's here, how could I not tell her?"
Seeing Gu Wenze's stern expression, Qiao Hua snapped, "Don't I even have the right to see my friends?"
At the mention of this, Gu Wenze's jaw tightened. "Who told you to keep causing trouble?"
Qiao Hua rolled her eyes. "We're just meeting up. It's not like we're going to run away, is it? You can have someone watch us if you have to."

Qiao Hua got angry too and pushed away the porridge in front of her. "Then I won't eat."
