Master Huiming glanced around without betraying a thing.
He had just heard a woman's voice, yet he had seen no one open their mouth. How strange.
Jiang Shuyue: [System, look! Little Strawberry made it up too. They say lazy donkeys and horses are always stopping to piss and shit, but Jiang Liuli isn't even as good as a donkey.]
System: [Don't underestimate her, though. She's been frantically memorizing Buddhist scriptures these past few days, all so she can show off in front of Master Huiming.]
[A monk actually matters that much to her? Is it because his head shines brighter than everyone else's, making him especially transcendent?]
Everyone followed Jiang Shuyue's gaze to Master Huiming's head.
Jiang Shuyue marveled, [It really is shiny!]
Master Huiming concealed the surging emotions within him behind a benevolent smile.
He had become a monk at twenty. In the thirty years since, he had witnessed few miracles and heard few divine teachings.
Just as he was approaching sixty, a miracle had unexpectedly descended from heaven.
This had to be a gift from the Buddha!
Jiang Shuyue: [Master Huiming is looking at me! You have to admit, out of all these monks, his head shape is one of the best. A full forehead, a rounded back, and such a gleaming scalp. If the others are braised eggs, would Master Huiming count as a pearl?]
System: [Not quite as round as a pearl, but he does have a nicely shaped head.]
Jiang Shuyue: [Exactly, exactly! You could make a mold from that head. It's the gold standard!]
Master Huiming chuckled twice. He wanted to touch his supposedly exemplary head, but felt a little embarrassed.
Perhaps this was the first time in his fifty years that anyone had complimented the shape of his head.
