Arc 14The Divine Temple and East Lin Plot
Liu Wan and Xia Wanwan faced Gu Ming’s attack at the Divine Temple while Xia Siheng confronted the enemies behind his mother’s death. After Ruyun escaped into East Lin’s hands, Xia Siheng told Xia Wanwan that Duke Yan was an East Lin spy, setting their next conflict in motion.
- The Empress Dowager gave Xia Siheng evidence of Duke Yan’s ties to East Lin and asked him to handle the matter while preserving the old duke’s reputation, and Xia Wanwan agreed to help.
- At the Divine Temple, the Grandmaster revealed why Xia Wanwan had been brought to the past, then spent his remaining power answering worshippers’ prayers before Xia Siheng took Xia Wanwan away with the Eldest Princess’s procession.
- Gu Ming attacked the Divine Temple and urged the crowd to turn against the emperor, but Xie Jin'an rallied the people and Liu Wan used the gourd to absorb Gu Ming and defeat him.
- Xia Siheng and the Eldest Princess drew Southern Mei death warriors and East Lin assassins into fighting each other, while Xia Wanwan called down lightning and destroyed the attackers.
- Xia Siheng killed Aye and comforted Xia Wanwan over the bodies, while Liu Wan uncovered East Lin’s spy network and helped foil Ruyun’s plan to drug the Prince.
- Ruyun was exposed and captured, then escaped with an East Lin envoy by claiming to carry Xia Siheng’s divine child, while Consort Jing planned to take the fetus for herself.
- The Empress Dowager told Chunhua that Master Youzheng’s rabbit Extremely had been spying on Ruyun’s group, while Xia Siheng returned to the manor and watched Xia Wanwan play with the children.
- Xia Siheng told Xia Wanwan that Duke Yan was an East Lin spy whose removal would clear opposition to her new law, and Xia Wanwan threatened to strike him with lightning.
