Arc 21The Phoenix Feather’s Wound

Xia Wanwan became the Qilin’s master as Xia Siheng exposed the coup and prepared for war with East Lin. The Phoenix Feather Plume wounded Liu Wan during Shen Chuanlian’s adoption, driving Shen away and leaving Xia Wanwan to seek revenge while her mother lay unconscious.

  • The Qilin Horn chose Xia Wanwan, and Shen Chuanlian killed the State Preceptor and Eastern Lin’s Death Warriors while Xia Wanwan fell unconscious.
  • Xia Siheng and the Ruler of Eastern Lin confronted the coup, but Duke Yan seized the Empress Dowager and escaped with the ruler as Xia Siheng declared war on East Lin.
  • Xia Wanwan learned from the Patriarch of the Mystic Sect that Shen Chuanlian was the demon embryo born from Yue Xuanji’s extracted desires, then woke and attacked him for threatening to take Liu Wan.

Arc 22Fate, War, and Revelation

Xia Wanwan nursed Liu Wan back to health as the Heavenly Dao’s schemes drove Shen Chuanlian and Xia Siheng toward East Lin. The Empress Dowager exposed the Sovereign’s crimes before the people, while Xia Wanwan and Shen Chuanlian set out to challenge the Heavenly Dao and change Liu Wan’s fate.

  • Xia Wanwan secretly fed Liu Wan her heart’s blood until Liu Wan awoke, while Shen Chuanlian learned that the Heavenly Dao had altered his mother’s fate to make him a Demon God destined for destruction.
  • Yue Xuanji tried to use Liu Wan as bait to draw Xia Wanwan after Shen Chuanlian, but Liu Wan survived and reunited with her daughter.
  • Xie Jin'an died protecting Yan and their infant daughter from a Southern Yue loyalist, and Great Xia prepared to fight on both the Southern Yue and East Lin fronts.
  • The Ruler of Eastern Lin abused the Empress Dowager and tried to use her to negotiate with Xia Siheng, but she reached Xia Siheng’s camp and asked him not to kill his uncle before dying.

  • Shen Chuanlian told Xia Wanwan that the Heavenly Dao had manipulated both their families’ destinies, and resolved to use its power to restore Liu Wan’s fate.
  • The Empress Dowager revealed the Sovereign’s crimes to the people of East Lin, including his murders, her imprisonment and abuse, and his role in the Little Princess’s death, before collapsing.
