"I'm not in the Yavana Sacred Mine..."
The Mushroom Person repeated those words, seemingly calming down.
They told Kroya, "We were Mushroom People living in Madaks Dungeon, but the Abyss lord Zugmoy's underlings captured us and turned us into this."
"She used our dreams as prisons to trap living beings. Anyone who eats us falls into an endless nightmare of suffering."
"Mm." Kroya noted that down and continued, "Then is what you said about them attacking the Main Plane through a rift in the Aether Plane true?"
"Of course it is!" The Mushroom Person grew anxious again. "You're a mage. You should know that beings from the Lower Plane must follow the principle of equivalent exchange to enter the Main Plane.
"The Abyss lord Zugmoy found a rift in the Aether Plane.
"All those humans who die in our dreams become soul energy, which she uses to build a passage between the planes.
"Once she has enough power, she'll descend!"
"She'll descend into the Main Plane?"
At this, Kroya couldn't help asking in confusion, "Everything I've learned tells me that almost no one can discover the Aether Plane. If she really has a rift into it, why would she bother attacking the Main Plane?"
"Wouldn't the endless mana in the Aether Plane satisfy her?"
Generally, demons caused trouble in the Main Plane for souls, or simply for their own amusement.
But if she really had a rift into the Aether Plane and extracted some mana from it, people would be tripping over themselves to trade with her.
That was absolutely pure mana.
Once mana's purity reached a certain threshold, its price would skyrocket.
Having that rift into the Aether Plane was equivalent to controlling a river of gold. Why invade the Main Plane and fight the churches and the Mage
