Anyone with some knowledge could recognize that the male voice questioning the light clearly belonged to the former Pope, Saint Nisoris.
A believer questioning his god-now that was a rare sight indeed.
To believers, a deity was all but omnipotent. Merely asking, "Have you been deceived?" amounted to questioning the deity. Taken more seriously, it was outright heresy!
Within the kingdom showering down endless feathers of holy light, hideous beasts and demons could actually be glimpsed lining up before the Father of Light's hall.
What the hell were those things?
Every faction capable of observing the Divine Kingdom was astonished. When the Orpheus Family saw their own ancestor standing among those creatures, they nearly lost their minds.
Most people, however, could not recognize who they were. All they could see were the familiar Holy Spirits of the Church, surrounded by beasts and demons.
Each wore their most splendid, solemn attire-battle armor and vestments blessed by the light's Divine Envoys and imbued with divine power.
This was precisely why Kroya had never believed they could make the light submit.
As the light's Holy Spirits, entering the Divine Kingdom effectively made them part of it. With a mere thought from its master, they would become nourishment for the kingdom.
This was fundamentally different from the Hall of Heroes and Eden that Kroya had created. His Hall of Heroes had an outer protective layer that kept its interior separate, allowing the souls within to retain their individuality.
The Father of Light simply assimilated them, sustaining the Holy Spirits' existence with his own power.
Thus, the only thing they could do now, the only thing they could pray for, was that the Father of Light might regain some clarity after losing the countless believers and Supplicants who had influenced his thoughts.
That was all.
