Preparing for a rainy day was a wonderful virtue.
Ivy naturally did not refuse, and gave Kroya a special set of magic runes.
"These magic runes will prove your identity."
"This priestess's name is Cassandra."
"She should be the only priestess of the goddess Athena still to be found on the Creation Ring."
While saying this, Ivy seemed to deliberately-or perhaps inadvertently-"look" at Miya several times, as though hinting at something.
Kroya did not quite understand, but he still turned to Miya and blinked. "Teacher, you won't refuse me, will you?"
Miya looked helpless. "She should be connected to the Medusa imprisoned in the Ark back then. They belong to different branches of history."
At the mention of Medusa, Kroya immediately recalled her legend.
According to the legend, Poseidon took a fancy to a priestess of Athena and did certain things inside the temple that were best left undescribed. The pure Athena angrily turned the priestess into a monster with snakes for hair, and later, a hero cut off her head and made it a trophy.
What could he say? It was actually pretty tragic.
Being forced upon by a deity was already terrible luck, yet the deity she worshipped went and cursed her too. If that story got out, it would practically be a scandal for Athena.
But he also knew that was only one version of the legend. Others said she had been born a monster-legends were like that, with many different versions, though the most outrageous version always spread the furthest.
Kroya was not particularly surprised that there was a Medusa inside the Ark. After all, Tredan had already secretly complained to him about Miya's "atrocious behavior" in exploiting child labor and handing him over to Medusa to be tormented.
"So who is this Cassandra?" he asked
