The Astral Benevolence Society.
It was an immensely complex and sprawling institution.
Its leader was said to be a "Holy Mother." Of course, this did not mean some sanctimonious do-gooder, but a true Holy Mother, willing to give everything she possessed to people affected by war and disease.
Her kindness and compassion had earned the admiration of many benevolent gods and powers in the Astral Plane, who willingly opened their routes to her and the Astral Benevolence Society, allowing them unhindered passage.
Such a vast organization, one that bore no ill will toward the vast majority of powers in the Astral Plane, wielded considerable influence. Even the Astral Council and the Star Sea Empire promoted the Astral Benevolence Society.
Kroya guessed that all bad people probably wanted to surround themselves with good people. Well... the Council and the Empire could hardly be called good, and they needed to project a "positive image" anyway.
Thus, they allocated funds and supplies to the Astral Benevolence Society every year. But the Astral Plane was enormous, with countless affected regions, and rebuilding and rescue were always far harder than destruction.
As a result, members of the Astral Benevolence Society frequently traveled far and wide to raise funds. The blessings bestowed upon them by the "Holy Mother" allowed them to ignore the barriers of most planes and turn up somewhere without warning. Someone might even pop out to solicit donations while you were using the toilet.
Kroya was somewhat skeptical.
Charity, after all... was hard to judge.
But the woman before him kept chattering away, and he was growing tired of it. Besides, he was running a business. It would be troublesome if she spread bad publicity about him.
Forget it. I'll spend a little money to send her on her way.
