Two letters were brought before Kroya.

One was entirely ordinary and came with a large parcel-the Baron's men had just delivered it.

The other shimmered with magical radiance, bearing both the Mage Association's crest and a mage's personal emblem.

A level-two magical beast, a Windrider Pigeon, had delivered this letter. Rob was currently treating it to good food and drink. It would not be sent off until Kroya had written his reply.

Kroya looked at the two letters.

After a moment's hesitation, he picked up the Baron's letter first and read it carefully.

The letter was short. Its main point was that the materials he had promised Kroya had arrived, and he hoped Kroya could finish the work as soon as possible so his men could take the finished products back.

Accompanying the letter were a very old-looking book and a large pile of materials.

The book looked as though it had seen many years. Its corners had worn smooth, yet it felt sleek to the touch. A crest belonging to the Church and two lines were engraved on its cover-

"From the light."

"Miracles shall manifest."

Well, those two lines certainly had a religious flavor.

He was more interested in what the thing was made of. He hefted it in his hand. It was heavy.

"Made of iron, huh? If you hit someone with this, you'd probably split their head open."

Kroya set it down and opened it.

The pages had yellowed slightly, but the writing and illustrations remained perfectly clear.

He did not study it closely at first, merely giving it a quick leaf-through.

The Light Miracle had no table of contents, meaning he would have to find whatever it contained himself.

After a brief look, Kroya's expression held delight mixed with a trace of complicated emotion.
