Su Guangju had been his neighbor for years and knew his son's explosive temper. He nodded. "Don't worry. I'll say whatever you want me to."
Hu Xiaotian came into the front hall, all smiles. "How is Mr. Liu doing?"
Liu Danggui hurriedly rose to pay his respects. "Thank you for your concern, Young Master Hu. I'm all right now."
Knowing he had twisted his ankle, Hu Xiaotian urged him to sit down. His concern for Liu Danggui's injury was only a pretext; what he really wanted was information about the Wan residence.
Su Guangju poured him a cup of tea. Hu Xiaotian took the opportunity to sit beside them and sip it. "Why are those Wan Family people so unreasonable? Is there no justice or law anymore?"
Those words touched Liu Danggui's sore spot. He sighed. "They're not to blame. I am. Without the necessary skill, I should never have gone to their door to examine the patient."
Hu Xiaotian feigned surprise. "Someone in the Wan Family is ill?"
Liu Danggui nodded. "Their second young master, Wan Tingsheng."
Hu Xiaotian actually knew perfectly well. Last night, he had dealt Wan Tingsheng a vicious blow with a club. Afraid of complications cropping up, he had put all his strength into it. That blow had been anything but light; the fellow had still been unconscious when Hu Xiaotian escaped the Wan residence. He had originally worried that he had struck too hard and killed Wan Tingsheng with that single blow. Now it seemed Wan Tingsheng was still alive.
Liu Danggui said, "Wan Tingsheng suffered an external injury. According to his family, he fell out of a tree last night and still hasn't regained consciousness."
