One sunny, breezy afternoon, Shen Corporation held a small charity event beside an orphanage in City A to support its development.
Shen Hui stood onstage, speaking on behalf of the company.
While he gave his speech, Jiang Nian stood below the stage, clapping every now and then to help liven things up.
Only when his speech ended and he stepped down did she approach with a drink in hand. "Not bad! Here, thirsty?"

After attending enough of these events, he had grown used to them.
He set down his cup and looked at Jiang Nian, who seemed a little bored, the corners of his lips lifting slightly.
"What, bored already?"
With Jiang Nian's restless personality, even now that she headed a company, she was bound to have trouble staying focused during dull speeches.

At events like this, there really wasn't much for them to do beyond showing their faces and going through the donation process.

"How about we sneak into the orphanage and visit the kids?"
Spending time with the children inside was much more interesting than standing outside making small talk.
Jiang Nian's eyes instantly lit up at the suggestion. "Yes, yes! Come on, let's sneak out."
And so, the two of them slipped away from the event and headed into the orphanage next door.
