Golden light illuminated the battlefield's contours once more.
Along the edges of Boundless Myriad Phenomena's shield, the dark red patterns seeping inward briefly stalled.
Di Tian's movements also paused for half a beat.
His gaze locked onto the golden slit that had opened, lingering for the briefest instant.
Qi Wu spoke, his voice still clear as it came from behind Boundless Myriad Phenomena's barrier:
"The structure you built from the remnants of the formation is indeed tightly compressed."
He paused. "But it has one problem."
Qi Wu continued:
"It can only attack. It has no defensive capabilities."
He sensed the portions of Boundless Myriad Phenomena's defenses that the dark red patterns had infiltrated.
The domain's internal structure remained stable. Its rule-based slashes kept cutting through the dark red substance seeping inside, stripping it away layer by layer, crushing it, and reducing it to nothing.
Information recursion and rule-based slashes worked in tandem, steadily weakening Di Tian's attack.
Once Qi Wu's own divinity began to intervene, however, that process noticeably accelerated.
Boundless Myriad Phenomena began consuming power more slowly than Qi Wu could recover it. The divinity supplied by the Heavenly Eye was replenishing his constantly draining spiritual power.
Di Tian watched the golden slit closing. His voice was steady, but deep beneath it, the underlying fluctuations briefly shifted:
"Let's see how much longer you can hold out."
Qi Wu smiled faintly, his expression perfectly calm:
"Long enough to kill you."
Beneath the covering of dark red patterns, Di Tian's figure remained largely stable.
His attack had penetrated the final layer of Boundless Myriad Phenomena's shield, but could not break through completely. It was trapped at the junction between Qi Wu's rule-based slashes and information recursion.
The dark red covering the entire battlefield was receding like an ebbing tide.
