"Let's go. The awards ceremony is about to start."
Kenichi Ikezoe glanced at the time and spoke.
All the jockeys were wearing suits today. After all, the awards coming up concerned them too.
Of course, wearing suits was also a way of showing respect for the event.
"Okay."
Koichi took a wet wipe and wiped his hands.
After Ayano Aoe had introduced him to those Horse Owners, he had come over here and started chatting with Ryuji Wada and Kenichi Ikezoe.
The mingling was pretty much over now. Next came the awards.
That was the main event tonight.
"There's really nothing to debate about this year's awards."
Ryuji Wada laughed.
Yutaka Take still had the most staggering win rate and prize money total.
"We should at least feel like we're taking part."
Kenichi Ikezoe turned his head as he spoke.
There was certainly no suspense over this year's Best Newcomer award either.
Koichi Sasaki had only ridden in a handful of races this year, but he had earned over a hundred million in prize money.
He would only be more formidable next year.
"I'll head over first, then. Want to go out for something to eat after this wraps up tonight?"
Koichi asked.
Although the buffet here was pretty good, he still hadn't eaten that much.
Once the evening was over, he would definitely have to find somewhere to have a meal.
His flight wasn't until tomorrow afternoon, so he had plenty of time.
"We'll have to pass. We're flying home as soon as this is over tonight."
Kenichi Ikezoe shook his head.
The New Year was almost here, and they needed to prepare in advance too.
They would only have a few days to celebrate before they had to start preparing for next year's races.
Enjoying the New Year
