They wore police uniforms, and at a glance, anyone would have taken them for officers from some precinct or other. But the practiced way they put up cordons and sealed off the area made it clear this was not their first time doing this.

"Sir Li Wei."

The squad leader jogged over and saluted Li Wei.

"What is the current situation?"

"As far as we can tell, everyone in the house may have disappeared."

"Is this an extremely urgent case?"

"Would you like us to begin searching immediately?"
