Li Wei did not actually think there was anything particularly frightening about a monster like The Haunter of the Dark. True, it could appear out of nowhere and then disappear. That was certainly tricky to deal with, but aside from that, it was not especially powerful, and its looks were nothing special either.

Besides, even if it could teleport, it still had to get through their defenses.

With a shout, Katie grabbed the hand The Haunter of the Dark had thrust out of thin air, hauled it straight out, and slammed it onto the floor with a shoulder throw. Then Li Wei raised the Persuader, aimed at its head, and pulled the trigger. A hail of bullets mercilessly tore into its head, blasting it to pieces. The monster then began melting like a wax figure, giving off a nauseating stench.

Neither of them had time to complain about that, though, because two more monsters appeared behind them at the same moment, reaching out to claw at them.

Just then, a cold gleam flashed.

The Grim Reaper Doll appeared behind Li Wei, scythe in hand, and swung its blade at the monsters. They shrieked, recoiled, and vanished into thin air again.

"This really never ends."

Li Wei glanced around and could not help complaining. They had already killed several Haunters of the Dark, but the creatures seemed endless, appearing one after another. Meanwhile, the painter was still frantically wielding his brush as if possessed. Who knew what he was painting?

It seemed they would have to do the same thing as before: find the painting and destroy it to banish these monsters for good.
