"The operation begins."
The commander checked his watch and looked at the colleague beside him. The latter looked serious and focused, but not particularly nervous.
After all, their orders were to raid this apartment building and arrest a branch leader of the Iron Blade Gang and his subordinates. The Fog City Police Station had carried out plenty of late-night raids before. This was simply their first on such a large scale.
Unfortunately, each team only knew its own target. They had no idea where the others had gone or whom they were supposed to arrest.
One thing was certain, though: this was a major operation.
"Move out!"
The commander gave the order in a low voice and drew his gun, then led several other officers swiftly into the apartment building. Following the intelligence they had received, they headed to the second floor. A lookout was guarding the stairwell there, but it was well past midnight, and his head kept drooping as though he were sinking into a deep sleep.
"Go!"
At the command, two officers lunged forward and pinned the groggy guard to the floor. One stuffed a cloth into his mouth while the other quickly pulled out handcuffs and clamped them tightly around his wrists.
The poor guard had been shoved to the floor and arrested before he even realized what was happening.
Meanwhile, the others rushed past him. The officer in front kicked the door open and charged inside!
"Police! Don't move!"
With a roar, the officers poured into the room, pointing their guns at the gang members and their leader, who were still fast asleep. Faced with these suddenly appearing officers, the gangsters were utterly bewildered. As far as they knew, they had not committed any crimes lately that warranted police attention, so they had never expected
