Things turned out exactly as Li Wei had expected.

Once the Empire's mech troops entered the fray, the monsters were finished. They had managed to destroy Hound-Class Mechs before, but Hound Mechs were built for reconnaissance rather than combat. They were essentially fragile little tanks, so it was hardly surprising that they could be taken down. This time, however, the arrivals were Knight Mechs, the backbone of the Empire's forces. Dealing with a handful of human-sized monsters that could fly but had already been battered senseless posed no problem at all.
