Li Wei and Mores used the rocks for cover as they crept toward the Monastery. As always, Li Wei sent a Little Sprite ahead to scout. Waving its feelers, it easily crossed the rubble-strewn ground and slipped into the Monastery's ruins.
Then Li Wei took a careful look around.
In what had presumably been the Monastery's prayer hall, several priests knelt in a circle, praying under their breath. In their midst sat a round... Gemstone?

Seriously, were these Holy Knights that ridiculous? Sensing someone's gaze-wasn't that something you only found in martial arts novels?
Besides, I'm scouting through a Twin-Tailed Pixie. They can sense even that?
Sure enough, there's something wrong with these Holy Knights!
Li Wei looked at the Gemstone again, concentrating this time.
[Soul Sight]!
The next moment, the world began to change, and the Gemstone's form appeared before Li Wei once more.
Only now, it looked completely different.
The color inside it was... gold!
That was right. Li Wei remembered seeing it in the world of "underlying code": the Royal Palace had been gold, and now the color inside this Gemstone was gold too!
But there was more to it than that. Or rather, the Gemstone's center shone with a golden soul
