After a preliminary survey of this world, Li Wei concluded that, as things stood, its Empire had virtually no chance of defeating the Kingdom of Kront, which had already developed biotechnology.
To Li Wei, this world's Empire somewhat resembled the late Qing dynasty of history. It shut itself off from the world, sneered at every technological advance, and cared only about preserving its rule rather than improving its productive capabilities. That was precisely why facing the Kingdom of Kront was now like fighting a fully equipped modern army with obsolete weapons. Victory was not impossible, but it would inevitably come at a tremendous cost.
The only reason the Empire had not fallen completely was its sheer size. It had not created any Beastmen Legions, either, leaving the Kingdom of Kront without enough manpower to occupy the entire Empire anytime soon. If the Empire continued holding out like this, the Kingdom of Kront would probably need five or six years to conquer all its territory.
That was why they had devised a plan to launch a surprise attack on Fog City. If they could seize Fog City in one stroke and capture George V, annexing the Empire would become much easier.
Repelling Kront's invasion, however, would be very difficult for the Empire. It lacked coal essence, and its internal combustion engine technology was relatively underdeveloped. Under those circumstances, Li Wei considered it extremely difficult for the Empire to achieve the explosive growth in production needed to counter Kront's Beastmen Legion.
But did that mean there was no solution?
Li Wei did not think so.
The reason was simple. The Kront Army Corps could use Beast Generals to control Beastmen engineered by other countries. What did that tell him?
It meant all Beastmen shared the same underlying interface.
And that meant finding
