This made no sense at all.
Normally, animals would stay as far away from light as possible. The Manor was brightly lit right now, in particular. Unless they had absolutely nothing better to do, ordinary wild beasts would never be stupid enough to show up under these conditions.
But these wolves were clearly different.
Like drunken louts staggering around before dawn, drunk and high and too excited to know what they were doing, they charged with their bloody maws wide open, drool streaming and tongues lolling.
In theory, the iron fences around the Manor should have been enough to stop these beasts. But perhaps things had been peaceful for too long, and the people here simply had no awareness of the danger. Plenty of haystacks, crates, and the like had been piled right against the walls. The wolves were no fools, either. After circling the fence, they climbed straight up the crates and haystacks.

But that was not the end. Soon, a second, a third, a fourth-like soldiers storming the beaches of Normandy, they charged into the hail of gunfire, determined to break through the obstacle before them even at the cost of their lives.
Yet gunshots soon rang out again, mercilessly blasting every one of their heads apart.
Bang, bang, bang!!
Only after the fifth wolf's corpse hit the ground did the pack finally retreat, melting back into
