After the Council of Truth ended, the sages and Tech-priests present departed in an orderly fashion.

Grand Sage Ezekiel, who had remained seated upon his hovering chair throughout, gave Lox several deep, gloomy looks before leaving with his disciples.

Only Cawl, Land, and several sages close to them remained.

Once he saw there were no outsiders nearby, Cawl faithfully expressed his views to Lox.

This was what Lox appreciated most about him: Belisarius Cawl never concealed his true thoughts simply because of a vast disparity in status.

He was an exceptionally pure Tech-priest. Right was right, wrong was wrong, and his loyalty to the Omnissiah could withstand the test of time.

"Are you suspecting that he may have used some heretical technology?" Lox asked thoughtfully, narrowing his eyes.

To the fundamentalists of the Adeptus Mechanicus, an organization like the Advanced Technology Community, which advocated open sharing of knowledge, was already heretical.

The heretics Lox referred to were the Dark Mechanicum that worshipped Vashtorr.

After the Emperor established the Adeptus Mechanicus, the faith of this colossal organization had, in truth, flowed toward different targets.

Most of that faith should have been directed toward the shard of the Void Dragon
