Lox and the Primarchs trapped Samus and learned that Davin anchored the Ruinstorm, then traveled there to confront the threat. On Davin, Sanguinius faced a false vision of his destiny and rejected Chaos’s offer, exposing the Greater Daemon Madail.

• Lox and the Hermit captured Samus with a Blackstone trap, recorded its true name, and questioned it about Horus’s plans and the Ruinstorm’s anchor on Davin.
• Sanguinius revealed his foreseen death aboard the Vengeful Spirit, and Lox joined him, Guilliman, Lion, and Curze on the journey to Davin.
• The fleet fought plague daemons and destroyed corrupted worlds before passing through a vast skull planet and reaching Davin’s ruined temple of Delphos.
• Lion nearly used Exterminatus against Davin under an unseen influence, while Guilliman destroyed the cursed dagger that was corrupting him.
• Sanguinius entered a portal beneath Delphos, and Lox and Curze followed him into a vision of Horus’s flagship, where Horus repeatedly killed Sanguinius.
• Sanguinius accepted Warp power in the vision, defeated Horus, and saw the Emperor offer him authority before Lox warned him that the scene was false.
• Sanguinius recognized the false Emperor as Madail and struck at him, while Lox prepared to face the daemon in reality.

Lox and the primarchs destroyed Davin, ending the Ruinstorm and opening the way to Terra. At Pluto, the Dark Angels and Rogal Dorn defeated the Alpha Legion and killed Alpharius, while Lox learned more about the Emperor’s Webway War and the surviving forces gathered for the coming campaign.

• Sanguinius killed Mardel, then told Lox and Guilliman to destroy Davin, and the Lion and Guilliman evacuated the survivors and ordered the planet bombarded, weakening the Ruinstorm.
• Lox, Guilliman, Sanguinius, and the Lion returned to Macragge, where the primarchs planned their routes to Terra and Guilliman assembled reinforcements from the Five Hundred Worlds.
• The Dark Angels, Blood Angels, and a portion of Guilliman’s forces traveled through the Webway toward the Solar System as Rogal Dorn sent Archamus to investigate the Alpha Legion’s attack on Hydra near Pluto.
• The Lion and Sanguinius arrived at Pluto with their fleets, and the Lion led a drop assault on Hydra while the Alpha Legion fought the Imperial Fists defending the fortress.
• Dorn joined the battle on Hydra, where he and the Lion confronted Alpharius, and Dorn fatally wounded him, and the Lion cut off his head as the Dark Angels defeated the remaining Alpha Legion forces.
• Dorn imprisoned the surrendered Alpha Legionaries and explained to Lox that the Emperor was confined to the Golden Throne, sustaining the damaged Webway beneath the Imperial Palace against the daemons within.
• Pollux returned to Dorn and reported for duty, while Jaghatai Khan reunited with Gantula and Qin Xin, mourned the White Scars’ dead, and marked Qin Xin as his successor to Qin Xia.

Lox met the Emperor on the Golden Throne, learned the history behind humanity’s fall and the secret mission prepared for him, then returned to help the loyalists plan against Horus. He gained new insight into Curze and Magnus while the loyalist forces prepared for war.

• Malcador assigned the primarchs their duties, and Leman Russ chose to pursue Horus while the Lion led an attack beyond the Solar System.
• Malcador revealed his past to Lox and brought him with Rogal Dorn to meet the Emperor on Terra.
• The Emperor showed Lox humanity’s history, explained the Webway disaster, and revealed that the Golden Throne’s burden kept daemons from overrunning Terra.
• The Emperor told Lox that his hidden mission was to escape to another universe if humanity could not be saved, and Lox rejected being bound to that plan.
• Lox returned to the loyalists and proposed building production bases, supplying their forces, and unifying the Mechanicum.
• The Emperor forgave Curze, who chose to reject his fatalism, and Lox proposed using him to infiltrate Magnus’s forces and capture Magnus.
• Lox questioned Jaghatai Khan and Russ about Magnus, learning how Magnus reached the Planet of the Sorcerers and that his scattered soul might lead him to the Golden Throne.

Lox helped Leman Russ pursue Horus, freed Curze and Sevatar to escape, and built a new technological center on Ganymede by uniting loyalist Mechanicum factions. As the new Commonwealth began sharing knowledge, Lox turned to improving the Astartes and sent Cawl to retrieve the Primarch genetic template from the Moon.

• Lox accompanied Leman Russ to Malcador, where Russ learned more about Horus’s power and departed with the Dionysian Spear to hunt him.
• Lox revealed his plan to lure Magnus to the Imperial Palace, learned that Malcador had fused a soul fragment with Revuel Arvida, and secured the Knights-Errant’s support.
• Lox arranged for Curze to free Sevatar and the Atramentar from the Invincible Reason, and Lion secretly let them escape to rebuild the Night Lords.
• Lox established a war base on Ganymede and invited loyalist Mechanicus refugees to join him, then presented them with Iron Men, Stone Men, and an extensive technological inheritance.
• Arkhan Land, Ezekiel Sedayne, Belisarius Cawl, and the other Tech-priests backed Lox as he founded the Advanced Technology Commonwealth and its Council of Sages.
• Lox introduced contribution points and knowledge exchanges, allowing Tech-priests to trade research and relics for access to the Commonwealth’s technology.
• After Land studied the Moravec Cube, Lox resolved to improve the Astartes, and Cawl proposed recovering the Primarch genetic template from the Selene Gene Cult on the Moon.
• Lox sent Cawl and Barabas Dantioch to retrieve the template, while Land told Lox that the Emperor had sent loyal souls back into battle as flaming warriors led by a headless primarch.
