The Auxiliary Brain was actually a product born of science fiction, perhaps more properly called an "artificial auxiliary brain," a "bionic computing chip," or something similar.
Human thought and consciousness were not singular in nature. They could be divided into emotion and reason, then further into memory, cognition, feelings, logical thought, calculation, and more.
Many of these functions were not exclusive to living beings. Both the computers on Earth in his previous life and the Puppet Cores of this life's cultivation world could perform them perfectly.
On the Puppeteer Dao Path, the ultimate goal of artificial puppets was to emulate "Yan Shi's Creation," producing perfect puppets with human forms, human functions, human intelligence, and even life and emotions. Yet even in such perfect puppets, the components responsible for low-level calculations were identical to those in low-level puppets, without any difference whatsoever.
This meant those tasks could be separated out entirely and entrusted to specialized tools, without relying on higher-order intelligence.
That tool was the Auxiliary Brain, a specialized core designed specifically to assist with thought and calculation. It was used to process and store data, transmit information, and carry out all manner of tasks that leaned toward the rational and mechanical.
In this way, cultivators' mental capacity could be freed up to perform more functions unique to higher life-forms.
This also coincided with the Primordial Spirit Way's teachings of severing the seven emotions and six desires, and of Supreme Detachment from Emotion.
Supreme Detachment from Emotion was, at its heart, a practice of discarding a living being's distracting thoughts to purify thought and consciousness.
The supreme way held that ordinary emotions were superfluous distractions that consumed the power of the primordial spirit. Removing them from the primordial spirit could free it, awaken its potential, and thereby make one stronger and
