"Hmm? This feels completely different?"
Joy stirred in Li Chen's heart. He found that he had not undergone the strange transformation from before-instantly losing his body, having his mind warped by a mysterious power, and turning into a monster. Instead, his feet stood firmly on the ground.
This was a good sign. At least he had some solid footing from which to search.
Dancing Maiden looked around, but said something unexpected. "This isn't reality."
Li Chen asked in surprise, "Senior, what did you say?"
Dancing Maiden glanced at him. "This is an illusory realm, not reality."
Li Chen's heart jolted. "An illusion? How is that possible?"
Dancing Maiden asked, "Why wouldn't it be?"
Li Chen said, "I'm in a mechanical body now. Everything I know and perceive is data. Information converted from data can't lie..."
At that point, however, he began to hesitate. "No, that's wrong. Data can't lie, but it can be distorted and confused. Besides, it's still my thoughts and cognition that perceive all this data and information. Ultimately, corresponding stimulus signals are generated in my brain to produce feedback."
"So that's how it works. Distorted cognition can still affect me through that process."
"Even machines and computers can be affected by this power. Machines can hallucinate too!"
An ordinary person would never have immediately believed that such realistic sights and sensations were illusory. But Li Chen had mastered the Brain Deconstruction Technique and understood the mechanisms and principles of the brain's feedback signals, so he grasped it at once.
He even deduced from this that robots could hallucinate too, and understood why Heavenly Pivot, who had remained connected to him all along, had never issued a warning.
Heavenly Pivot's voice sounded in his mind. "I can hallucinate too?"
The emotional system simulated a tone of extreme surprise,
