After taking a careful look, Wu Jinliang grinned too. "They really came, and fast at that. I thought they'd rest for a few days. Looks like blue robes, so that should be the Thousand Rocks Sect."
Fang Zicheng said, "One of the two sects you told us to watch for while tailing people?"
Wu Jinliang chuckled. "Exactly. This is what all that tailing was for. Watch closely and learn. Once you've learned, you'll know how to handle it. I won't necessarily be here every day."
Lao Changhai said, "I wonder which sect that crowd chasing them belongs to."
"Who cares? We'll find out when we ask. Come with me." Wu Jinliang slapped Lao Changhai on the back, turned, and jumped into the excavated hole.
Lao Changhai followed him.
On a mountain peak, inside a crevice formed by several large rocks propped together, Pang Hou of Summer Path Mountain suddenly perked up and whispered repeatedly, "They're here, they're here. They really came."
The three who had come with him also strained to peer outside.
It was exactly the same trick they had experienced themselves. Though the distance kept them from making out the faces of the two carrying the divine fire, it was enough for them to conclude that these were men from the Bright Mountain Sect.
On the highest peak, the Ten Elders seated beneath the great iron pestle studied the two men bowing before them with divine fire held out, trying to find some sign of the Bright Mountain Sect in these blue-robed men. They had all seen the Bright Mountain Sect's people on the mountaintop outside in Artifact Cloud Valley, but these two were complete strangers who stirred no particular recollection. They exchanged questioning looks.
The result was the same: none of them recognized the pair.
