High in the heavens, Great Yin hung aloft.
Chu Mo stood atop the Hall of Yama, his head tilted back as he gazed at the bright moon for a while. It seemed to have endured since time immemorial, reigning supreme over the night.
As he watched that bright moon, the teachings of the Lunar Chain Form quietly surfaced in his heart. His qi resonated with the luminous moon from afar, and the working of the technique seemed poised to draw upon its mysteries.
After a moment's consideration, he sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and softly chanted the incantation. "The moon's soul condenses its radiance; Great Yin's mysteries give rise to life. The spirit dwells in mystery upon mystery; the mind abides in the Cold Palace..."
In an instant, moonlight slowly descended from the Cold Palace like flowing water.
The silver stream reached the roof of the hall and immediately became a pool of silvery nectar. Its cold radiance rose and fell, brightened and dimmed, like the waxing and waning of the moon, nurturing a spark of mystery of utmost purity and essential nature.
Chu Mo opened his mouth and drew in a gentle breath. An exceedingly fine strand of true intent was drawn into his mouth with the moonlight, then fell into the Nether Capital's golden vault.
The moonlight became a spot of lustrous white within the Netherworld, swiftly brightening to its fullest brilliance. Before long, it had become an illusory moon suspended beside the mountain's summit. The divine mountain towered majestically, the vast moon shining bright.
On closer inspection, silver talismans seemed to hook and lock together within that illusory moon, or perhaps tadpole-shaped script swam through it, hazy and indistinct.
In the days that followed, Chu Mo immersed himself entirely in cultivation. At night, he climbed to the
