Chu Mo felt a faint stir in his heart when he saw the newcomer. The cultivator in moon-white robes was none other than Yuan Bai.
The man seemed to have a clear purpose, apparently coming straight for him. Chu Mo ventured, "Senior Brother Yuan Bai, what brings you here?"
"You really have given me a surprise." Yuan Bai looked at Chu Mo with some astonishment. "I heard Zhou Huan intended to harm you, so..."
The corner of Chu Mo's eye twitched. He came to help me? Isn't he rather late? If I'd actually counted on his aid, the grass on my grave would already be three feet tall.
Besides, if he remembered correctly, Yuan Bai had been just as "timely" back in the Savage Realm.
"To think Junior Brother Chu would advance so swiftly. In the blink of an eye, we're already fellow disciples of equal standing."
Unaware of Chu Mo's thoughts, Yuan Bai spoke with a touch of emotion. His way of addressing Chu Mo had also changed from "kid" to "Junior Brother Chu."
That subtle change meant he now regarded Chu Mo as one of his own kind, rather than merely an "interesting object" as he had before.
Chu Mo did not believe Yuan Bai would personally travel all the way to the Turbid Abyss Sea for someone in qi refining.
Outwardly, however, he still cupped his hands in greeting. "Thank you for your concern, Senior Brother. I'm quite all right." One did not strike a smiling face; the proper courtesies still had to be observed.
Yuan Bai actually nodded without the slightest hesitation, accepting that gratitude quite comfortably.
He indeed had not come to rescue Chu Mo. He had merely learned from Ji Qing that Chu Mo had most likely made this journey for the Heavenly Register.
