The affair had far-reaching implications, and the situation was serious. With the Queen's orders issued, none of her subordinates dared delay. The Royal Special Guard served as messengers themselves, crossing the Royal Capital regardless of the terrain and soon reaching the Black Castle.
In the First Hall, Mulan was teaching the more than two hundred students who had passed the earlier examination, beginning to show them how to draw out the power within their hearts.
This was a course Mulan had developed himself, drawing on many sources. Though he always claimed he was merely compiling existing knowledge, its theory differed from almost every existing Magic Book system.
Now, not only was every seat occupied at each of Mulan's lectures, but a team from the Service Department was always present at the back to record the entire lesson. They had been ordered to distill some of the material and bind it into books.
"Physical power and spiritual power influence each other. Breaking through the shackles of the flesh places greater emphasis on the physical plane, while crossing into the supernatural places greater emphasis on the spiritual plane. The two complement each other-"
Halfway through his explanation, Mulan suddenly stopped and looked toward the doorway. A man in a black uniform stood there, his fringe covering half his face. The exposed half was unnaturally pale, as though coated in layers of powder.
Something stirred in Mulan's mind. The man outside was clearly no ordinary person and was very likely a true supernatural being. Could he be from the royal guard?
"What is it?"
"Lord Jonester, by order of the Queen, please step outside."
Knowing something important must have happened, Mulan nodded and turned to his students.
"I'll step out for a moment."
With that, Mulan walked outside. The guard whispered something in
