A bomb landed beside a cannon, detonating the ammunition around it and instantly engulfing the area in flames.
The flames swallowed the nearby rebels and two Raven Church followers. Most of the dozen or so people fell in an instant, and the Kingdom Army charged in again.

The chaotic footsteps outside drew closer as the Kingdom Army rushed in. The Raven Church follower crawled into a pile of bodies, pulled a corpse over himself, and lay motionless, playing dead.
Kingdom Army soldiers even stabbed some of the corpses with their bayonets to make sure everyone around them was dead.
A sharp bayonet pierced the Raven Church follower's shoulder and thigh, but he held his breath and remained still. Only after the Kingdom Army left did he breathe a sigh of relief. He looked toward the site of the explosion. His companions had died there.
